The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is once again gearing up for its annual Senior Citizens’ Fishing Rodeo, an event designed to bring together seniors for a day of fishing, socializing, and recreation. For those who enjoy the great outdoors and the thrill of reeling in a big catch, this event promises to be a fantastic opportunity to get out and have some fun. • Kayla Vincent with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced the event, which will take place on May 1st from 7:00 – 11:00 a.m. • The event will be held at the Calcasieu Correctional Center’s Farm Pond, located at 5400 E. Broad Street in Lake Charles. • Participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs, fans, and fishing gear, with a maximum of one pole per person. • The CPSO will provide assistance with baiting lines, removing fish from hooks, and offering bait for catching fish. A perfect blend of outdoor recreation and social interaction, the Senior Citizens’ Fishing Rodeo offers a unique opportunity for seniors to get together, meet new people, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
