Seniors Reel in the Fun at Annual Fishing Rodeo

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is once again gearing up for its annual Senior Citizens’ Fishing Rodeo, an event designed to bring together seniors for a day of fishing, socializing, and recreation. For those who enjoy the great outdoors and the thrill of reeling in a big catch, this event promises to be a fantastic opportunity to get out and have some fun. • Kayla Vincent with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced the event, which will take place on May 1st from 7:00 – 11:00 a.m. • The event will be held at the Calcasieu Correctional Center’s Farm Pond, located at 5400 E. Broad Street in Lake Charles. • Participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs, fans, and fishing gear, with a maximum of one pole per person. • The CPSO will provide assistance with baiting lines, removing fish from hooks, and offering bait for catching fish. A perfect blend of outdoor recreation and social interaction, the Senior Citizens’ Fishing Rodeo offers a unique opportunity for seniors to get together, meet new people, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. With the CPSO providing refreshments, this event is truly a great way to spend a morning out in nature. Some key highlights of the event include:
