The morning of October 1, started as slow as the previous day but a move to the Ram Powell would prove fateful. “We had like a few hours left and we had nothing to show for it so when we sunk the bait for another big tuna, we sunk it down… small bait, small leader, small hook and we were just hoping to save the trip with a big yellowfin tuna and what hit next was a surprise,” Wier said. “Oh, my gosh. I think it’s a blue marlin. It’s a blue marlin,” Kenny could be heard screaming on the video recording of their trip.

The catch was released back into the deep blue sea.
