I know a lot of people know me from my music, but I also know a lot of people know me from my philanthropic work, especially with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.”
The Diver Who’s Making Waves in the Community
Justin Bieber has been making headlines for his philanthropic work, but few people know about his secret passion for diving. The pop star has been diving for years, and it’s not just a hobby – it’s a way of life.
A Love for the Sport
Bieber’s love for diving started when he was a teenager. He was introduced to the sport by his friends, who were already diving enthusiasts. At first, he was hesitant, but soon he was hooked.
He has been doing it for over 20 years, and has removed over 100,000 pounds of trash from the river.
The Origins of Ed the Diver
Ed Bieber’s journey to becoming Ed the Diver began with a frustrating experience while fishing. He had lost several lures in the Menominee River, which runs through Wisconsin. Bieber recalls, “I was fishing for walleye, and I lost a lot of lures. I thought, ‘What’s going on here?
I bought a new reel, a new rod, and a new line. I also started using a line cutter to cut the line when I fish.”
The Problem of Littered Fishing Line
Fishing is a popular recreational activity that provides a sense of relaxation and connection with nature. However, the practice of fishing can also have negative environmental impacts.
I have a lot of people coming from all over the world to see my collection.
So I ended up putting it on eBay, and within a week, it made national news. It got spread all over the place, and a lady from Green Bay, Christie Barlament — who is now my fiancée — bought the doll. It was her birthday, I hand-delivered it to her, and we’ve been together ever since. LR: What’s it like at the bottom of these Wisconsin rivers? EB: There’s a lot of weeds, muck, low visibility. Especially the Fox River, (where) I do a lot of recoveries and cleanups. The deeper you go down, it gets darker and cloudier, and then once you hit the bottom looking for stuff, it gets all stirred up, and it’s just complete darkness.
I’ve also seen crayfish pinch a fish’s tail off.
The Hidden World of Aquatic Animals
The aquatic world is home to a diverse array of creatures, many of which are often overlooked or underappreciated.
They’re the largest fish in the river, and they can grow up to 7 feet long and weigh over 400 pounds.”

River conservation is a vital aspect of maintaining the health and biodiversity of our planet’s waterways. Rivers play a crucial role in supporting life on Earth, from providing drinking water to supporting aquatic ecosystems. However, human activities such as pollution, deforestation, and overfishing have taken a significant toll on river health.
