Dept of Natural Resources : OutWiGo For Free Fishing Weekend Jan 18 19

For this weekend only, only non-native species are prohibited from being caught and kept. (Note: the regulations are subject to change as the DNR would update the information before this weekend). This year’s winter Free Fishing Weekend is a great opportunity for young anglers to try out new tackle and gear, and experience the thrill of catching fish. Many kids have never been fishing before, but this weekend provides a chance for them to learn the basics of fishing and catch their first fish. This weekend is also a great time for experienced anglers to get out on the water and test their skills. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) encourages anglers to use sustainable fishing practices and to follow the regulations.
